Introducing the LLA

In 2014 we partnered with NFOP and NARPO to create Later Life Ambitions, bringing together the collective voice of over a quarter of a million pensioners.  While the members of each organization have specific needs and requirements, there are many areas in which we align and have the same goals and aims. By working together we have a stronger voice and can campaign and fight for the rights of pensioners in the most impactful way.

We have ambitious aspirations for the next generation of pensioners.  Our aim to encourage today’s decision makers to confront the challenges of tomorrow. We require bold and forward-looking action from our political leaders. We want to change the terms of the debate – to focus on the ambitions of pensioners rather than the perceived ‘costs’ to the rest of society.

To help communicate these aims we have created this manifesto, which sets out our vision for a better future not just for our members, but for the 11 million people in later life throughout the UK.

The manifesto was launched at an event at the House of Commons in November 2023. The event was sponsored by Sir Stephen Timms, the Labour chair of the Work and Pensions Select Committee. He told the guests that there was a lot of work to do in many areas to improve the lives of older people.

Sally Tsoukaris, CSPA General Secretary, said “We were thrilled to co-host this event with our LLA partners, NARPO and the NFOP, and encouraged by a good turnout from across the political spectrum. It was amazing to see so much consensus, passion and determination in the room to deliver a better future for older people in the UK.”
