Election update

We extend our congratulations to all candidates who successfully gained or held seats in yesterday’s General Election. It has been a momentous week for the nation, following a period of some political turmoil. We look forward to Keir Starmer’s appointment of Labour’s Cabinet, and to opportunities to welcome Ministers to their new posts.

CSPA continues to highlight the campaign priorities set out in the Later Life Ambitions’ manifesto, “Standing Up for Pensioners”, at every opportunity, and we will be working with those in Government, and other MPs from across the political spectrum, to ensure that older people’s voices are heard.

Sally Tsoukaris, CSPA General Secretary, said “We are looking forward to forging working relationships with the newly appointed Government Ministers, MPs and others. We have been encouraged by commitments in the main parties’ manifestos on the State Pensions Triple Lock, Health and Social Care reforms, promises to review Local Authority funding and services, and improvements to Public Transport networks, and our members look forward to seeing positive changes in these areas being made.”
