Last week, Sally, joined the Care & Support Alliance and more than 60 older and disabled people, unpaid carers, and care professionals to stand up for social care. Everyone agreed: We can’t afford for social care to be ignored in the budget.
Currently, at least 2.6 million people have to go without the care they need. Social care provision has slipped far below acceptable levels, and the lack of available services is having very real consequences. Consequences not only for the individuals whose lives are diminished and their families and friends who care for them, but for public services too – especially the NHS.

Response to Chancellor Reeves’ Spring Statement
Chancellor Reeves, presenting her Spring Statement in the House of Commons on the 26th March, said that she was proud of what the Government had
