70 years of the CSPA: Parliamentary event success

We were honoured to have Clive Betts MP host CSPA at a reception held in the Churchill Room at the House of Commons, on Tuesday 8th November. The event marked the Platinum Jubilee of CSPA and was attended by MPs and Peers, CSPA group and branch representatives, policy makers, members of the Executive Council, regional representatives and campaigning partners of CSPA who have worked with us over the years.

The event was well-attended and enjoyed by all those who came along to hear about the work of CSPA.

Speeches made by the General Secretary, Lisa Ray and Clive Betts MP, focussed on the history of our organisation and the pressing need to increase the state and public sector pensions in line with inflation. The outstanding issues with widows pensions for life in the civil service Classic pension scheme and the need to urgently improve Social Care was also highlighted by Clive Betts MP.

There was an opposition day debate on the need to keep the State Pension Triple Lock on Tuesday. This served to show how relevant the work of CSPA remains.
