Over many years, CSPA members have given generous and stalwart support to The Lifeboat Fund, and we want to say Thanks!
Your donations have certainly helped to make this Civil Service charity the Royal National Lifeboat Institution’s longest-standing supporter and single biggest donor. The RNLI’s Chief Executive, Mark Dowie, asks all those in the Civil Service ‘family’ – both serving and retired – to give their support via their own charity: The Lifeboat Fund. It matters to all charitable organisations to know who their donors are, and the RNLI regards the Civil Service as playing an important part in its story. This year, that story records an incredible milestone – it’s 200 years since the RNLI began its crucial, lifesaving work.
The Lifeboat Fund itself is over 150 years’ old. We’ve funded 54 lifeboats, provided crew and lifeguard training and kit – we’ve refurbished lifeboat stations, and helped some RNLI overseas projects to prevent drowning in some of the world’s most dangerous waters.
The 2024 Lifeboat Fund Appeal is seeking to make its best possible financial contribution to our beneficiary’s 200th! With over 90% of its total income coming from donations and legacies, the RNLI’s lifesaving depends on dedicated supporters, just like us. Please help The Lifeboat Fund deliver a special ‘birthday gift’ in this very special year.
You can make a donation on the Civil Service Pensioners’ Alliance’s JustGiving page, or send a cheque to The Lifeboat Fund’s postal address: The Civil Service Lifeboat Fund, c/o Department for Work and Pensions, Digital Group’s Chief Operating Office, 2 St Peter’s Square, Manchester, M2 3AA.
When we moved to that new postal address, initially, we encountered a couple of problems. These may have led to some cheques being returned to the senders. We have since resolved the issues, and charity mail will reach our Secretary without delay. We apologise to anyone who was affected and can assure our donors their donations are extremely important and hugely appreciated. Many thanks for all your support.
